James B. Robbins, II (Jim)
President & CEO
Jim Robbins has over 40-years experience in the construction industry as a field engineer, estimator, project engineer, project manager, chief estimator, and construction operations manager. As President and CEO of Romeo Guest Associates, Inc. since March, 1987, he provides strong leadership to initiate success for projects from the earliest stages. Jim is personally committed to each and every project to ensure superior quality and service for our clients, as well as maintaining the core values and ideologies that define our company and set us apart from our competitors.
Jim received his Bachelor of Science degree for Civil Engineering from North Carolina State University. He has applied that education, as well as field experience to numerous construction markets including educational, industrial, commercial, technology, church and medical facilities. Jim has a passion for athletics driven projects and his professional resume is abundant with a multitude of athletic facility construction, renovations and additions. While well versed and experienced in numerous delivery methods, Jim prefers to deliver projects through the design/build delivery method, offering the best experience through all phases of design and construction with a single point of contact.
In his free time, Jim enjoys working on his farm including taking care of over 25 animals and tending his garden and hay fields. Originally from Asheboro, North Carolina, Jim now makes his home in Roxboro, North Carolina.
Vice President & CFO
Van has over 35-years experience in the construction industry as a staff accountant, controller and financial manager. Since March of 1990, Van has served as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Romeo Guest Associates, Inc. He provides financial and human relations management, in addition to support for Project Managers relative to project costs and invoicing. Van is also responsible to administer insurance requirements, changes and adjustments ensuring that our clients, our employees, our subcontractors and vendors are properly insured for optimum protection and security through delivery of each of our projects.
Van received his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Northern Illinois University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Campbell University. His educational background, accompanied by his experience in the construction industry provide a solid foundation for all administrative functions of our firm.
Born in Greensboro, North Carolina, Van spent his teen years just outside of Chicago, Illinois. After college graduation, Van relocated to Raleigh, North Carolina and has been in the area since 1974. In his free time, Van enjoys golfing, gardening, and time spent with family, especially his grandchildren.
Vice President, Operations & Business Development
Wes has over 28-years experience in the construction industry and is a third generation construction professional. Beginning his career under the direction of his father, Wes initiated his passion for the construction industry at an early age as a laborer. He quickly progressed through carpentry and foreman positions including field management of multiple renovation projects. Wes was given the opportunity to expand his interest of estimating and project management through multiple projects within and around the Durham, North Carolina area. His experience includes a wide spectrum of complex projects from the perspective of owner, engineer, and contractor. While completing a majority of his projects in occupied buildings, he has also managed new construction projects, design/build projects, and projects driven by the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building Rating System. His involvement in design/build projects includes working closely with owners, designers, engineers, material suppliers and contractors, giving him the ability to provide value and continuity to the overall process from the earliest stages.
Wes received his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Using his academic education and field-driven experience, Wes is able to provide both leadership, as well as support to the men and women working through daily operations for Romeo Guest Associates, Inc. In addition, Wes’ roots initiated right in the heart of Durham, NC, therefore his knowledge of the area and local construction markets allow him to promote business development for the company focused on building more than structures, but building relationships.
In his free time, Wes enjoys getting outside with family. Whether on the lake, at the beach, in the mountains, or hanging out at home, family time is treasured time. Originally from Durham, North Carolina, Wes has remained close to his roots and now lives in Hillsborough, North Carolina.
Blair has over 40 years of experience in the construction industry initiated by filling his summer breaks from high school in the field as a laborer and then carpenter. Developing a keen interest and devotion to the construction industry as a career choice, Blair gained valuable hands-on experience in the field and continued to apply that knowledge while advancing into estimating and project management positions. As a Project Manager and Estimator, Blair has experienced various levels of project development including design/build, negotiated projects, and hard-bid construction projects. He has a wide range of construction experience including educational, industrial, commercial, data centers, multi-family, churches and athletic facilities. Blair promotes the team approach in working with owners, designers, subcontractors and suppliers to meet the unique and often complex challenges of each specific project, whether it is a renovation in an occupied facility or new construction.
Blair received his Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Arts with a minor in Math from Appalachian State University. Born and raised in nearby Roxboro, North Carolina, Blair has chosen to make this area his home base and has built many lasting relationships with companies and individuals in Durham and the surrounding areas. While appreciating opportunities to work in the local construction market, he also enjoys working in other geographical regions for clients and owners as the need and opportunity arises. Blair is dedicated to detail and building a relationship of trust and loyalty with each client.
In his free time, Blair enjoys spending time with his family and volunteering for various positions and opportunities to serve through his church. Blair and family currently reside in Timberlake, North Carolina.
Project Manager / Safety Director
Scott received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Construction Management with a minor degree in Business Administration from East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina. He began his career working summer internships building houses in Brunswick County, NC, installing hurricane protection systems in Topsail Island, NC and working on a 13-story base building project in Bethesda, Maryland.
Scott’s construction experience ranges from IT data centers and technical pharmaceutical laboratories to higher education projects including athletics, student affairs, dining facilities, classrooms and office areas. Throughout his career, Scott has gained valuable experience and earned multiple licenses and industry certifications which brings a broad level of expertise to our company.
Scott performs a dual role for Romeo Guest Associates including both Project Manager and Safety Director. Both roles require attention to detail and focus to ensure our client’s needs are met while maintaining our Safety 1st mission.
In his free time, Scott enjoys taking trips with friends to the North Carolina coast, engaging in a variety of outdoor activities and reading. Originally from Cary, North Carolina, Scott now makes his home in Raleigh.
